Second to the Cream Cheese and Strawberry Jam Toas-Tites, we love Nutella and sliced strawberries...

...and you might also like nutella and bananas.

The fluffernutter (peanut butter and marshmallow fluff) is always good...

...and you might also like peanut butter and jam, or peanut butter and chocolate.

Emma said this combo of marshmallow fluff and chocolate was like eating a cloud.

We thought we'd try adding peanut butter to this sweet treat next time.

Bruce grew up on bologna Toas-Tites, which he forces me to make; I added mustard and cheddar, which, he admits, is an improvement.

I prefer ham and brie to bolgona and cheddar--go figure!

The pizza Toas-Tite was Emma's idea--we used pepperoni and mozzarella on sourdough.

When I make the pizza Toas-Tites for Bruce and me, I add diced tomatoes.
So many of you were enamoured of our Cream Cheese and Strawberry Jam Toas-Tites (still my Toas-Tite of choice), I wanted to share some of the other concoctions we love…and make sure you saw the generous research some of our readers did to turn up info on the Toat-Tite.
bigredkitchen reports: While searching for my own toas tite I found there is a Toas-Tite blog, http://toastiterecipes.com/.
phoo-d said the Toast-Tite “very closely resembles a ‘pie iron’,which you can take camping to make all kinds of delicious melted things.” Here’s one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Romes-1805-Round-Steel-Handles/dp/B000F630II/ref=pd_sim_dbs_k_3.
outworldcats found a couple of actual Toas-Tites on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Bene-Casa-82361-sandwich-press/dp/B001F39CU0/ref=pd_sim_hg_1 and http://www.amazon.com/Diablo-Stovetop-Toasted-Sandwich-Snack/dp/B000H7DEYA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1253082176&sr=1-4. “The second one is a little more expensive ($24.95), but it is Teflon-coated, so you can cut down on (or eliminate) the butter. Which in my opinion would be a bad idea.”
Another good bet is eBay….
Realize, too, that these gooey sandwiches work because the outer edges are sealed (unlike, say a panini) by the one-and-only Toas-Tite.

You had me at nutella and marshmallow fluff. I would have such a hard time deciding which one to eat. LOL

I am eating vicariously. If you do not stop, I shall have to hire one of those toast-pot-swipers I’ve seen in the classifieds. They specialize in stealing kitchen ware.

You’re killing me! OMG! I would have a food frenzy with every single one of these. Marshmallow and chocolate? That should be illegal. Strawberry and cream cheese. I’m so addicted to food gadgets. I wonder, will my husband take away my credit card if I buy one… these look amazing. Really.

I’ve never seen this kind of iron before. I like the way it makes round grilling mark. Your sweet sandwich looks scrumptious, I’m sure that somethings my girls would love and enjoy making. We’ll try this recipe out over the weekend. Can’t wait…
